LU signs MoU University of Madeira for pharma research

Lucknow: Lucknow University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Madeira, Portugal, on Thursday to provide students an opportunity to learn about Portugal's pharmaceutical practices and foster collaboration in pharmaceutical research and development.
The agreement was signed by rector of the University of Madeira Silvio Fernandes, director of the Madeira Chemistry Research Centre Professor João Rodrigues, director of the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, LU Prof Pushpendra Kumar Tripathi, and vice-chancellor Alok Kumar Rai.
"This move will enable the Madeira Chemistry Research Centre and the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, LU to collaborate on various activities, including joint research projects, academic publications, books/reports, and exchange programs for students and faculty members," said Rai.
He said that this collaboration would focus on pharmaceutical sciences and would involve joint research projects, academic publications, and exchange programmes. Meanwhile, Prof Rodrigues said that young students and teachers would be encouraged to participate in basic research in chemistry, and residential research training would be provided for small projects lasting three to four months. He expressed his pleasure at signing this MoU and invited students to collaborate on projects related to science and art, he added.
