LUCKNOW: From holding press conferences to meeting professionals, taking out marches and attending public meetings, mayoral candidates of prominent parties are leaving no stone unturned ahead of polling day for local body.
BJP candidate Sushma Kharakwal visited Smriti Upvan in the morning and later paid visit to Alambagh Khalsa Chowk Patel Nagar Gurdwara and prayed for her victory. She also visited the high court where she appealed to advocates to vote for her. Kharakwal also met teachers and students of KKC, KKV and AP Sen Mahila Girls' College.
SP's mayoral candidate Vandana Mishra met voters in Jai Shankar ward where she conducted door-to-door campaigning. She promised to solve the problems related to sewerage, drinking water and toilets in public places.
She urged women's groups to vote for "safe Lucknow for women" and for "clean and green city". She also reached Bhartendu Harishchandra ward and promised regular fogging, sanitization, quality education, better health services and streetlights.
AAP mayoral candidate Anju Bhatt attacked the BJP for poor sewage system. She said that despite BJP being at the helm of affairs for 25 years, there is no sewer system in 43% of the city
