Mayoral campaign gains pace

Lucknow: With polling day drawing near, mayoral candidates have intensified their campaigning.
SP mayoral candidate Vandana Mishra on Thursday asked party workers to meet voters living in slums as well as dalits and OBCs and motivate them to vote for party candidates. She visited 12 city areas, including Khargapur, Sarsawan, Arjunganj, Raja Bijli Pasi I and looked into civic problems being faced by locals. She assured the electorate if voted to power she would improve the situation within six months. Party workers distributed copies of poll manifesto of Vandana among the electorate and requested them to extend full support to her.
BJP candidate Sushma Kharakwal and corporator candidates addressed meetings in different localities and did padyatra in markets.
Members of Sikh, Sindhi and Punjabi communities organised a function at Ashiana to welcome the BJP mayoral candidate.
AAP mayoral candidate Anju Bhatt met advocates at civil court and appealed to them to vote for AAP candidates.
BSP candidate Shaheen Bano visited Geetapalli, Ali Nagar, Azad Nagar and Shringar Nagar localities. She promised smooth roads in these areas and assured voters if elected to power she would work to end the stray animals’ menace and waterlogging problem.
