Police report that Yashoda was taken to the hospital on Saturday while experiencing labor pains. According to her husband, Santram, the doctors sent him to procure blood and then proceeded with the surgery without obtaining his consent.

"In the complaint to the police, the family alleged that when an ambulance was called and preparations were being made to make the pregnant woman sit, they realised both the woman and her newborn had died," said Dheeraj Kumar, SHO of Baldirai police station.

Santram further claims that the hospital staff did not inform the family about the deaths, instead transferring Yashoda to another hospital citing a serious condition. It was during the transfer preparations that the family discovered both the mother and baby had died.

Following the discovery, the family caused a disturbance at the hospital. The hospital owner and the doctor involved were not present during the incident, according to police.

Authorities have sent the bodies for post-mortem examination and have initiated legal action based on the family's complaint.
