LUCKNOW: Lucknow based
Islamic Centre of India
(
ICI
) issued an advisory for the last Juma of
Ramzan falling on May 7, appealing to people to follow all
Covid
protocols, stay at home and pray the
Alvida
Juma namaz. The centre also advised people against shaking hands or hugging one another.
Head of the centre
Maulana Khalid
Rasheed Farangi Mahali said that it was important to observe Covid protocols for the Alvida Juma and that those with four or more persons at their homes should offer the last Friday of Ramzan prayers as a group at home.
“Even while offering namaz one should wear a mask and follow social distancing. The group of five people who are offering namaz at a mosque should be the same group of five who are present for Alvida namaz at the mosque and no sixth person,” said Maulana Khalid. “There is no requirement to visit each other’s houses either. After the namaz, all devotees should pray for Covid-19 pandemic to come to an end for the health, peace, livelihood and country’s development,” he added.
