Lucknow: BJP national spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP
Sudhanshu Trivedi
claimed on Tuesday that after a crushing defeat in two phases the Samajwadi Party will not be able to save even its stronghold in the third phase.
The third phase covers
Karhal
(
Mainpuri
) from where SP chief Akhilesh Yadav is contesting his first assembly election. Akhilesh’s uncle Shivpal Yadav will be contesting from Jaswantnagar seat.
Speaking to reporters at the state party office,
Trivedi
said that the coalition wants to win the elections on the basis of criminals.
“Now a criminal’s son has been fielded through the alliance,” he said, a day after jailed mafia-turned politician Mukhtar Ansari’s son Abbas filed his nomination from
Mau
on a ticket of SBSP. “People don’t want a government that supports goons and mafia,” he reiterated.
