UP CM expresses condolences over death of captain (Dr) Anshuman Singh at Siachen Glacier
LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his condolences at the death of Captain (Dr) Anshuman Singh at the Siachen Glacier, while he was trying to rescue people from a fire in an ammunition dump in the early hours of Wednesday.
Announcing financial aid of Rs 50 lakh for the family of the deceased army doctor, a resident of UP’s Deoria district, the CM said that one member of his family would be given a government job while a road in his home district would be named Shaheed Shri Anshuman Singh.
"The state government is with you in this hour of extreme distress. We will provide every possible help to the family of the martyr,” he said.
Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak also expressed his condolences at Singh’s death, who had managed to save three persons before succumbing to the fire. “I salute his bravery. I pray to God to give his soul a place at his feet and to ensure that those who were injured should recover at the earliest,” he said.
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav called Singh’s death “extremely sad”. He prayed for the soul of the deceased and hoped that his family would have the strength to bear his loss.
