UP end National Gamescampaign with 56 medals

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh team ended their National Games’ campaign in Gujarat with 56 medals — 20 gold, 18 silver and bronze medals each — in their kitty.On the last day of the 36th Asian Games on Wednesday, Rashi Sharma won a bronze medal in boxing (52kg category). In the semi-final, she was defeated by Meenakshi of Haryana. Congratulating the sportspersons for their performance, UP Olympic Association general secretary Anandeshwar Pandey said that UP stood eighth in the overall medal tally. He said that in the 35th National Games held in Kerala in 2015, UP had bagged 7 gold, 31 silver and 30 bronze medals.tnn
