UP shocker: Vendor spits into milk before delivery in Lucknow's Gomti Nagar; arrested

LUCKNOW: A milk vendor supplying in upscale Gomti Nagar area was arrested after being caught on CCTV spitting into milk before delivering it to residents.

The video footage, which went viral, led to widespread outrage. The man, who initially identified himself as "Pappu," was later confirmed by police to be Mohammad Sharif of Malhaur.



He supplied milk to several households in Vinay Khand, Gomti Nagar, for years. One of the residents, Love Shukla, reviewed CCTV footage on Saturday morning and spotted Sharif spitting into the milk.

A police complaint was promptly filed at Gomti Nagar police station.In the video, Sharif can be seen waiting at the doorstep after ringing the bell, then spitting into the milk container before handing it over to residents.

Gomtinagar SHO BC Tiwari said further probe was on.

The incident sparked protests by Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha, whose national spokesperson Shishir Chaturvedi demanded strict action under the National Security Act (NSA), calling the act "intentional contamination."

The group staged a demonstration chanting slogans like "Stop Spit Jihad."
