Woman’s body found in Gosainganj field
Lucknow: A woman's body was found in a mustard field on Tuesday afternoon after she went missing at midnight in Lucknow's Gosainganj area.DCP South, Nipun Agarwal, said the woman's husband filed a missing person's report on Tuesday, saying his wife was asleep in a hut on his farm but he found her missing when he woke up in the morning, prompting police to lodge a missing report. "Later, the man said his wife's body was found a few metres away from the hut," the DCP said. As soon as information reached police, they arrived at the spot, took the body into their custody and sent it for post mortem. A heavy police force was deployed on the spot.The deceased was identified as Sushila Rawat (55), resident of Salauli village in Gosainganj. Police are making inquiries and examining CCTV footage. DCP South said Sushila had been living with her husband, Guddu, in a hut in the village with her family for about 25 years. Her husband filed a missing person's report on Tuesday. After this, the missing person was searched. Meanwhile, there was information about a body lying in a field outside the village. Initial investigation revealed it was a case of enmity."Injury marks were found near the neck of the deceased and the body was swollen. These marks can also be caused by the mangalsutra getting snatched. Exact cause of death will be known only from the postmortem report."
