Yogi orders strict quality audit of UPSIDA projects
Lucknow: The Yogi Adityanath govt has tightened oversight of development works in industrial areas across Uttar Pradesh, directing rigorous third-party inspections to ensure quality, transparency, and timely completion of infrastructure projects being executed by the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA).
As part of the initiative, the responsibility for independent quality testing has been entrusted to RITES Ltd, a Government of India enterprise. The move comes amid the state’s push to strengthen industrial infrastructure, improve ease of doing business, and create an investor-friendly ecosystem.
The decision was taken following an inspection of seven major industrial areas in Ghaziabad by UPSIDA chief executive officer Vijay Kiran Anand. During the visit, the CEO directed RITES to undertake detailed quality assessments of ongoing development works and ordered that sample testing of construction materials and completed works be carried out in the presence of representatives of entrepreneurs’ associations to ensure transparency and accountability.
The inspection covered Kavi Nagar Industrial Area, Swadeshi Industrial Area, Bulandshahr Road Industrial Area, South Side GT Road Industrial Area, Lohamandi, Meerut Road Site-3, and Sahibabad Industrial Area. Officials reviewed the status of roads, drainage systems, civic amenities, and other infrastructure projects being developed in these zones.
During the review, the CEO made it clear that no compromise on quality would be tolerated and that all works must adhere to prescribed standards. He instructed officials to strengthen the third-party audit mechanism, ensure regular monitoring, and complete all pending development projects within stipulated timelines.
The CEO also interacted with industrialists and entrepreneurs, discussing proposals for expanding infrastructure and common facilities in industrial areas.
