LUDHIANA: Parwasi Sahit Adhyan Kendra of

Gujranwala Guru Nanak Khalsa College

will be organising a two-day international conference on ‘Emigrant Punjabi Literature in Global Perspective’ at college campus on the occasion of Mother Tongue Day on Thursday.

During the conference, Parwasi Punjabi Writers, research scholars from different countries will be present. The teachers and research scholars from various colleges and universities will read research papers on emigrant Punjabi literature.

Guru Nanak Dev University

, Amritsar, SP Singh, said, “Motive of organising this conference is to evaluate, understand and appreciate the Parwasi Punjabi Sahit and provide a common platform for writers, readers and critics. On Saturday, short films on immigrants will be telecasted with the support of GGNIMT.”

Parwasi Sahit Adhyan Kendra was established in the college in 2011 and till now over 12 national, international seminars, conferences, book release events of various writers were organised. Parwasi Sahit Adhyan Kendra has published five books and two books were under process of publishing.

Gurbhajan Singh Gill, former president of Punjabi Sahit Akademy and coordinator of Punjab Bhawan, Surrey,

Canada

and also an alumnus of the college, said this will provided a platform for Parwasi Punjabi writers to discuss and promote

Punjabi language

, literature and culture.
