Bittu seeks fast services at PSK office

Ludhiana: Ahead of a huge queue of people witnessed outside the Passport Sewa Kendra (PSK) office in Ludhiana, Congress party MP from the city, Ravneet Singh Bittu on Thursday paid a surprise visit to the Ludhiana PSK office located on Link Road. Bittu interacted with the applicants and checked the arrangement made for the visitors, like water, toilets etc. The MP also questioned the staff members about the average time taken in processing of files, and also visited different counters where the applications are processed to check the system.Bittu also met the assistant passport officer (APO) Anoop Kumar, and held discussions with him about the problems being faced by the applicants. He asked him to work on ways for faster processing of applications so that the queues outside the office could be avoided. Bittu said, “For the last few days, I have been getting complaints from people that long time is being taken to apply for passports at Ludhiana PSK, and there is four months’ waiting for getting an appointment here. If this is not enough, the applicants coming here on the day and time of their appointments have to stand outside the PSK office for a long time, due to the heavy rush.”
