LUDHIANA:
Sidhwan Bet police
has booked a person for allegedly marrying twice after getting two identity cards. The accused was identified as
Jobanpreet Singh of Behlolpur in Batala District.
In his police complaint, Kulwant Singh of
Sawaddi Kalan
said that the accused had married first time on 25 October 2010 in the same area and then he got married using his name as Gagandeep Singh to a girl from Sawaddi Kalan and used to live in the same village. He added that
Dakha police
had booked the accused in an NDPS case in October 2017 and he was convicted by a Ludhiana court in the case under his name Gagandeep Singh.
The complainant alleged that by hiding his identity the accused had misled police and court.
On being informed, deputy superintendent of police (DSP) at Dakha probed the matter and later case was registered against the accused at Sidhwan Bet police station.
