LUDHIANA: Surinder Shinda, famous Punjabi singer and actor, died at DMC hospital in Ludhiana on Wednesday morning.
Earlier, he had been admitted to another hospital with a respiratory infection before being transferred to DMC.
The DMCH officials said that Shinda was admitted in pulmonary care ward of the hospital more than a week ago and was on ventilator support. They added that the patient died of multiple organ failure at the hospital at 7.30am on Wednesday.
Shinda was a known name in Punjabi music industry and a number of hit songs includinh Putt Jattan De, Jatta Jeona Morh, Kaher Singh Di Mout, etc. He had also appeared in Punjabi movies like Ucha Dar Babe Nanak Da and Putt Jattan De.
Surinder Shinda was colleague of the renowned Punjab singer Kuldeep Manak and had helped late Amar Singh Chamkila in making big in music.
Shinda (64) was a well-known name in the Punjabi music industry, having sung a number of hit songs, including 'Putt Jattan De,' 'Jatta Jeona Morh,' and 'Kaher Singh Di Maut.' He had also appeared in Punjabi movies such as 'Ucha Dar Babe Nanak Da' and 'Putt Jattan De.'
