MADURAI: The Madras high court has closed a plea which sought the construction of a railway overbridge across the Nagercoil to Thiruvananthapuram railway line in Kanyakumari district.

The court was hearing a public interest litigation filed by S M Anthony Muthu seeking for a direction to the railway authorities to construct a railway over bridge in North Peyankuzhi village connecting the Nullivilai village panchayat road.

A division bench of justice P N Prakash and justice R Hemalatha observed that the matters pertaining to construction of a bridge by railways is purely a technical issue based on the assessment of the ground reality.
