MADURAI: A 36-year-old man from
Madurai city
was murdered in a quarrel between two neighbouring families.
The deceased has been identified as B
Muthiah
, 36, from Kalankovil Street in Kochadai.
A police officer said that Muthiah dug a
channel
to discharge sewage water from his house into another channel.
His neighbour -- A Rasu, 62 -- objected to it as the water channel dug by Muthaih was close to his house.
A verbal argument ensued between Muthiah and Rasu’s family members on Monday.

, Senthil Kumar, wife Arayi and daughter-in-law Buvaneswari assaulted Muthiah using wooden logs and stone.
Muthiah suffered injuries and was rushed to a hospital. Doctors checked him and declared that he was ‘dead on arrival.
Based on a complaint from Muthiah’s father, P Bose a case was registered at the SS Colony police station under various sections of IPC, including 302 (punishment for murder). Rasu and Senthil Kumar have been arrested, while others are being searched.
