Tamil Nadu: Hundreds protest against farm laws in Madurai

MADURAI: Hundreds of people from the Muslim community took part in the protest organized by the

Madurai

district unit Muslim Ikkiya Jamaat at Obula Padithurai on Wednesday, to show their solidarity with the farmers protesting in New Delhi against the recently-enacted farm laws.


Madurai MP, Su Venkatesan took part in the protest and addressed the gathering. He condemned the central government for passing the laws without any debate. He also urged the central government to withdraw the acts.

Members from the other opposition parties also took part in the protest. Police were deployed to ensure safety.
