TVK MLA launches ‘Visil 191’ app to track public grievances
Madurai: Madurai North MLA Anban Kallanai on Wednesday launched ‘Visil 191’, a mobile application aimed at functioning as a single platform for residents to register public grievances linked to multiple government departments in his constituency (no:191 in 2026 election)
Launching the application at his newly-opened MLA office, he said complaints related to several government departments, including local body administration, revenue, electricity and drinking water supply, could be submitted through the platform and would be forwarded directly to the concerned officials for action.
“This application has been created to ensure that people do not have to run from one office to another to get their grievances addressed,” Kallanai told reporters.
The MLA said residents who wish to register complaints through the platform could create accounts using their voter identity card details. For residents unfamiliar with using mobile applications or online grievance systems, a separate helpdesk has been opened at the MLA office to assist them in filing complaints and tracking updates.
Party volunteers will monitor all complaints, filed manually and through app, and track the status of action taken by government departments after grievances were submitted through the application. “They will ensure that proper follow-up and action from the concerned department,” he said.
Referring to complaints related to Tasmac outlets, he said, “People from wards 12, 18 and 20 are bringing complaints about Tasmac outlets functioning near residential areas, public drinking, crowding near shops and nuisance during night hours, and we will take them up with the concerned authorities based on the nature of the issue,” he said.
