Two get life sentence for rape of minor

In February 2018, the minor girl was sleeping outside her home, when the gang which came in a car abducted her and then raped her. She was rescued days later. Subsequently, police arrested the five in connection with the rape.
Meanwhile, the girl’s mother, a casual labourer moved the Madurai bench of the Madras high court to conduct trial at another district after which the case file was transferred to Madurai.
At the end of the trial, the trial court judge, S Karthikeyan ruled the accused guilty and sentenced the main accused Pandi and Selvam to lifetime imprisonment. For Prabhakar and Sulaiman, the court sentenced 25 years imprisonment and for Siranjeevi, 20 years imprisonment. TNN

has sentenced two people to lifetime imprisonment for the rape of a minor girl in Sivaganga district in 2018.
