Ganeshotsava celebrated at Bunts Hostel

: The three-day Sarvajanika by Sri Siddi Vinayaka Pratishtana and Sarvajanika Sri , Omkaranagara, Bunts Hostel, was inaugurated on Tuesday.K Jairaj Rai, president of Ramakrishna Cooperative Society, along with Soumya J Rai, inaugurated the Ganeshostava. Jairaj said that such celebrations help unite society. Ajith Kumar Rai, managing trustee of the pratishtana, has taken up several development projects for the Bunt community. All these projects should be completed as soon as possible, he added.On the occasion, paddy strands, which symbolise the new crop of the season, were distributed to all attendees. B Jayaraj Hedge, administrative trustee, Shree Vaishnavi Durga Temple, Manipal, distributed the paddy strands, along with Ammani J Hege.Ajith Kumar said that the credit for the successful celebration goes to the dynamic group working behind it. It is because of them that the entire celebration is going smoothly, he said.Various officer-bearers of the Buntara Alias Nadavara Mathru Sangha were present. Harmonious celebrations at Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations at the controversy-hit Mangalore University campus in Konaje were held without any hitch on Tuesday, with Jayaraj Amin, vice-chancellor of the varsity, taking a lead in the celebrations. As a precautionary measure, a good number of police forces were deployed outside the Mangala auditorium, the venue of the celebrations.The celebrations were attended by university officials, students, staff and locals. RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, along with Y Bharat Shetty, MLA, Mangaluru City North, paid a visit to the venue. Bhat, after taking part in the prayers, said he is thankful to the vice-chancellor and officials for the smooth conduct of the celebrations. He expressed that the Ganesha idol installed at the venue was small, and asked the varsity officials to make it bigger next year.

Trichy officials issue guidelines on Vinayaka Chathurthi celebrations

The police in Trichy, India have issued instructions to the organizers of the Vinayaka Chathurthi festival to ensure a peaceful conduct of the rituals. Measures discussed include security arrangements for the installation and immersion of Vinayaka idols, as well as guidelines such as keeping the height of the idols below 10ft and avoiding the erection of banners mentioning caste or political parties. The Tamil Nadu pollution control board has also instructed the use of natural, biodegradable, and eco-friendly materials for the idols.
