Mangaluru police chief seeks explanation after picture of pregnant woman cop goes viral

Questioning the ACP for not sending the woman constable on leave, Harsha directed the officer to do so forthwith. He also directed the ACP to ensure that the Mulki police inspector submits a written explanation by Sunday. Harsha said, “I feel pained, not as CP (commissioner of police), but as a concerned citizen. We as an organisation are sensitive to such issues and will take care.” Harsha added that he owned up to the mistake of his organisation and offered his apologies to his staff and society.
Incidentally, this seemingly apparent aberration at Mulki comes close on the heels of personnel of Mangaluru East Police Station organising a baby shower function for one of the woman personnel serving there at the police station. Harsha recollecting this incident said, “Mulki is an aberration. We will hold the concerned accountable for lapse and will be dealt with firmly.” The above picture was posted in an interactive WhatsApp group featuring media and city police

When to proceed on leave should be decided by a pregnant woman based on her priorities. She may need more time with her child after birth and her body is already very used to the extra weight during very advance stage of pregnancy. She doesn’t feel as uncomfortable as she looks.Read allPost comment
