SIT conducts crime scene recreation at Dharmasthala
Mangaluru: A team of officials from the Special Investigation Team (SIT), State Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), and Scene of Crime Officers (SOCO) conducted an operation in Banglagudde in Dharmasthala on Thursday.
The team reportedly conducted the recreation of a crime scene in connection with the Dharmasthala mass burial allegations levelled by former sanitation worker CN Chinnayya. It may be recalled that Chinnayya had brought a skull from Banglagudde. The team of officials recreated the scene, wherein Vittal Gowda, the uncle of Sowjanya who was murdered in 2012, had dug out the skull, and it was videographed by Pradeep Kulal then.
Chinnayya had approached police claiming that mass burials took place in the region. Following his complaint, a case was registered at Dharmasthala police station on July 4 last year.
An official confirmed that the teams conducted crime scene recreation as part of the investigation.
