MEERUT: In an incident that has shaken Muzaffarnagar, a 15-year-old class XI student, who was with her male friend on a motorcycle, was chased, assaulted, dragged into fields and gang-raped by four youths. The incident was reported from an area under
Nai Mandi police
on Friday morning.
According to officials, the girl and her friend were on A to Z road when four men chased them and stopped their motorcycle. “The assailants first overpowered her friend and later dragged her to nearby fields. There, they assaulted her and later gang-raped her,” said an official involved in the investigation.
Meanwhile, police acted promptly and arrested all four accused within 24 hours of the incident. “As soon as we received the complaint, we began our investigation. The girl was sent to a hospital for her medical examination. In less than 24 hours, we identified all four accused and arrested them,” said assistant superintendent of police
Manilal Pattidar.
“The accused have been identified as
Shahid Ahmad
, Rohit Pal, Trilokchand and Mohit. They have been booked for rape and assault,” said a senior official.
