On August 25, after a fight involving students of classes 8 and 9, parents of the injured student filed a complaint in Kakod police station against eight students from two different villages. Two constables, Sonu Baliyan and Pushpendra Rathi, brokered a compromise between both parties and took money for not taking any action against students. Bulandshahr SSP Shlok Kumar said the two policemen were suspended based on sufficient evidence, including a video of accepting the bribe circulating on social media.

He added, "Statements of parents were recorded and a case registered against both constables under the Prevention of Corruption Act". He added: "Both policemen are absconding, and a team has been formed to arrest them. There is zero tolerance against corruption and regular checks are done on such activities."
