Meerut: The Bulandshahr district administration and health department sealed 45 medical centres, including hospitals, clinics, and pathology labs, and issued notices to 13 others for operating without proper registration or qualified medical staff, officials said on Tuesday.
Chief medical officer, Dr Vinay Kumar, said a special drive is under way in the district following complaints about illegally operating hospitals and labs. These operations took place in Anupshahr, Dibai, Sikandrabad, and Bulandshahr city.
"We found these centres were running without registration, and practitioners lacked medical degrees or certifications. Notices were issued after sealing facilities, and FIRs will be filed following investigations," Dr Kumar added.
He said the drive will continue to ensure only qualified doctors and paramedical staff provide healthcare.
Deputy CMO, Dr Harendra Bansal, said staff at illegal centres fled after receiving advance notice of the inspections. "Surprise raids will be conducted based on complaints, and strict action will follow," Dr Bansal said.
