Sub-Divisional Magistrate Hamid Husain stated that whilst the death occurred on Wednesday, the exact cause remains undetermined.

The local farming community has maintained a dharna for three months, seeking a designated cut on the Delhi-Dehradun National Highway at Bhaju village to facilitate easier crop transportation.

Local residents have expressed serious concerns about the difficulties they encounter due to the absence of this access point.

Following the incident on Wednesday, fellow protesters placed the deceased's body at the demonstration site, demanding compensation for his family. Senior officials from both police and administration visited the location to address the situation and provided assurances to the demonstrating farmers.

According to Husain, the authorities have sent the body for post-mortem examination, and an investigation into the matter continues.
