. Both his older siblings are studying medicine. His elder brother is a first-year student at AIIMS, Nagpur.
“I expected Anant will secure a single digit rank. However, he kept insisting that we should not have such high expectations. All of us are very happy and wish him well for his future,” said Sarika.
Anant said, “I went for coaching in Meerut on weekends in Class XI and later joined a coaching centre in Kota when I was in Class XII. I set a target of studying a certain part of the syllabus every day and didn’t sleep without completing it. My aim is to become a neuro surgeon and fulfill my mother’s dream of serving the masses by means of the education that I gain,” said Anant. Parth Gill, who was placed at AIR 27, was in for a surprise when he saw the result in the afternoon. “I was expecting a rank among top 100. However, AIR 27 was really unexpected. I was also active on WhatsApp for study groups where students put up their problems and everybody helped in solving them,” he said.
