Maharashtra ACB notice to 2 of Uddhav Thackeray’s MLAs

MUMBAI: The state anti-corruption bureau has issued notices to Shiv Sena (UBT) faction MLAs Rajan Salvi (Rajapur seat) and Vaibhav Naik (Kudal) for having assets disproportionate to their known sources of income.

The two MLAs are from Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts, Uddhav Thackeray faction's strongholds in the Konkan region.

"The notice has been issued only because I am loyal to Matoshree. I have also received threats to put me in jail, but I am not afraid and will face the inquiry," Salvi said alleging that CM Shinde and deputy CM Fadnavis are involved in issuing the notice.

Uddhav MLA skips ACB summons

Shiv Sena (UBT) faction MLA Rajan Salvi who was summoned by the state ACB on Monday did not appear before the investigators in Alibaug. Salvi said he has asked for 15 days to reply to the notice for disproportionate assets issued to him last week. He is among the 16 MLAs who are still with the Uddhav Thackeray faction.

Salvi claimed he received threats, followed by the ACB notice for being loyal to the Thackerays. He said he will face the probe and is not scared of being jailed. "I remained loyal despite rebellion in the party. I have not left Uddhav and hence I have got ACB's notice. It is no secret that those accused of DA cases jump to BJP and all cases vanish," he said. Naik appeared before the ACB on Monday in Raigad's Alibaug.
