MUMBAI: The elder daughter of actress
Moushumi Chatterjee, Payal, died at the age of 45 on Friday after a long illness. She had Type 1 diabetes and was in a coma since 2018. Payal, who was born when Moushumi was barely 18, was an alumna of Avabai Petit School in Bandra. Moushumi and her husband fought a legal suit against Payal’s husband Dicky Sinha for her custody, alleging that he and his parents were neglecting her treatment and diet. They accused him of leaving her medical bills unpaid.
As soon as word arrived of her death, the film industry offered condolences. Actor Tusshar Kapoor tweeted, “Saddened to hear of the demise of Payal Chatterjee. Have seen her a lot in my childhood days. Deepest condolences to Moushimi Chatterjee ji and family.”
