Rajesh Tope
on Friday said the state was drawing up a policy to test
frontline workers
using the
antibody test, which has been allowed by the Centre.
"In this test we will able to see if the frontline workers have developed antibodies against the virus. The test will be done in every district for all the frontliners," Tope said.
He said another test, called anti-gene test, is a diagnostic test that gives result within an hour. only if the result is negative, a Covid-19 swab test is done as a second check. As the result is obtained faster, it can be used to test suspected patients in containment zones.
The state approved the use of the 'Tele-ICU' in seven districts, including the city.
