MUMBAI:

Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad

(

ATS

), probing the case of five

Bangladeshi

immigrants staying in Maharshtra illegally, on Tuesday said they could been members of the outlawed Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT). Police said they may have harboured and financially helped some associates. Aahat Ali (30) was detained in Ambernath on Sunday, while Hassan Ali (24) was arrested on Monday. Both hail from Jaishar, Bangladesh. All five are in police custody till March 29.

“Their supervisor, Raj Mandal, also arrested, had arranged jobs for them at a sensitive construction site in Pune. We are interrogating them about their

handlers

and are sending their cellphones for cyber analysis,” said an ATS officer. ATS officials said, “Aahat and Hassan were working in small commercial establishments. Preliminary enquiries reveal they had harboured and provided logistical support to ABT members.” tnn
