MUMBAI: A 48-year-old man, Raju Gupta, from Bandra (West) lost his life in a tragic hit-and-run incident that took place in Bandra (West) on Saturday morning. The victim was collecting scrap under the U-bridge around 7:30 am when an unidentified speeding vehicle struck him and fled the scene. Police are going through the closed circuit television (CCTV) sought from the route to track the motorist involved in the hit and run case.

Gupta sustained critical head injuries and was rushed to Bhabha Hospital for treatment. However, he succumbed to his wounds while receiving medical care. The Bandra police have launched a search operation to apprehend the unknown driver responsible for the incident. "Gupta succumbed while undergoing treatment at Bhabha Hospital. The unknown motorist has been for rash driving, causing death due to negligence and under the Motor Vehicle Act," stated a police officer from the Bandra station.

Police have registered a case against the unidentified motorist for reckless driving, causing death by negligence, and violating the Motor Vehicle Act. The police are actively investigating the matter and gathering evidence to identify and locate the suspect involved in this tragic hit-and-run case.
