MUMBAI: An alleged kingpin who supplies party drugs–meow meow or mephedrone–to narcotic drug peddlers in the western suburbs was arrested in Amboli on Sunday. An official from Amboli police station said that the accused, Imran Ansari (32), was caught while handing over 1kg of the meow worth Rs 40 lakh to a drug peddler Afzal Ansari (38) on Veera Desai Road in Andheri (west). Based on their information, additional commissioner of police Manoj Sharma and his team laid a trap near Dev Prestji Apartment in Andheri (west) and nabbed the two and confiscated a bike. “We seized the drugs from them,” said senior inspector of Amboli police station Bharat Gaikwad.
The police also seized a
weighing scale
and sachets in which 10gm of the drug was wrapped and sold to users.
