MUMBAI: Nirmal Jaisinghani, one of the arrested accused in the extortion case lodged by Amruta Fadnavis, wife of deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis, had shot the video of Aniksha Jaisinghani filling money in a bag, the police said they have stated in the chargesheet they filed in court on Thursday.
Aniksha, who claimed to be a cloth and jewellery designer, had struck up an acquaintance with Amruta after asking her to wear her products and later offered money to Amruta in return for help in dropping cases against her father, bookie Anil Jaisinghani, the FIR said. Nirmal is a relative of Aniksha's. Aniksha later showed a similar bag in another video shot at the residence of Amruta to blackmail and threaten Amruta after she failed to get help for her father in the cases.
A forensic report said the first bag was heavily stuffed and the bag in the second video was not. Police have submitted the forensic report in the chargesheet. Initially, Aniksha had told investigators she had kept her phone on a cabinet at her home and shot the video. During interrogation, it transpired it was Nirmal who had shot video.
