"A total of 13,848 power consumers from these circles participated in the scheme and paid off arrears amounting to Rs 31 crore. They received a discount of 5% to 10% percent on principal arrears along with a waiver of interest and delay charges. The scheme's deadline is March end and we appeal to remaining consumers to apply promptly online," a MSEDCL official said.

According to the scheme, low and high-tension customers (excluding public water supply and agricultural pump customers) whose electricity supply was permanently disconnected by March 2024 or earlier are eligible for the benefits. If the principal arrears are paid in a lump sum or in six equal installments, interest and delay charges will be completely waived, the official said.

Eligible customers must apply online through the portal https://wss.mahadiscom.in/wss/wss
