The Mumbai-Goa road travel time will be cut down from 12 hours to 6 hours after completion.

Work is pending on a few bypasses, underpasses and flyovers in towns like Mangaon, Indapur, Pali, Lanja, Kolad and Chiplun.

The project has been delayed due to land acquisition issues and the involvement of unpromising contractors.

84km Panvel-Indapur stretch is being developed by NHAI, while the remaining sections are being widened by the PWD under the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

Off the topic: I am 84. Hope I survive to travel at least once. After joining erstwhile Indian airlines, l genery travelled Goa/Bombay by air (free ticket). When they completed Konkan Railways, I travelled only once just for the experience of it. When my son bought car I travelled by road once just for the fun of it.
