In Mumbai, GR okays 1km extension of Metro Line 2B

MUMBAI: The Rs 10,986-crore Metro Line 2B from D N Nagar in Andheri West to Mandalay in Trombay is to be extended to Cheetah Nagar in Trombay, one of the largest transit camps in the city. On Wednesday, the state urban development department issued a government resolution (GR) giving the go-ahead for the extension, which had been approved by the MMRDA board in 2021.

The extension of Metro 2B by a kilometre, along with Cheetah Metro station, is estimated to cost Rs 206 crore, which will be borne by the MMRDA. The increase is 1.8% of the total project cost. This Metro line is expected to be completed by December 2024.
