MUMBAI: A newly married couple staying in Kukreja Towers in Ghatkopar died of suffocation allegedly due gyser gas leakage on Wednesday. The deceased, Deepak Shah (40) and Tina Shah (35), were residing in a rented apartment in the tower.
The Pant Nagar police have prima facie registered an accidental death report and sent their bodies for postmortem at Rajawadi hospital.
At the time of going to press, postmortem was under way. Police said the incident came to light after the couple's relatives, who stay next door, informed police that the couple was not answering the door bell or mobile phone.
Senior inspector of Pant Nagar Ravidutt Sawant said police opened the door of the flat with duplicate keys and found the couple lying lifeless. They were rushed to hospital where they were declared dead. -
