MUMBAI: Claiming that the Enforcement Directorate's investigations are nothing but the result of a motivated conspiracy to negatively affect his political career and part of a witch hunt, NCP MLA Hasan Mushrif moved a special PMLA court recently seeking anticipatory bail in a money laundering case.
"It is necessary to highlight that in the present case, the officers of the Enforcement Directorate are showing complete unreasonableness and inhuman approach. No one is being spared and the mission seems to be only to get the applicant (Mushrif) arrested so that the political agenda and goals are met," the plea submitted through advocate Prashant Patil said.
The plea said that despite having no case and the matter pertaining to the schedule offence being stayed, the ED is trying to arrest him, possibly at the behest of BJP leader Kirit Somaiya.
The plea will come up for hearing before special judge M G Deshpande on Monday.
