NEW DELHI: Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde announced a state funeral for former minister and NCP leader Baba Siddique, who was shot dead outside his son's office in Mumbai's Bandra on Saturday.
Siddique served as the Minister of State for various departments between 2004 and 2008 and also held the position of President of the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA).
Delhi Police will dispatch a special investigation team to Mumbai to investigate Siddique's murder.
The Mumbai Police are also looking into whether the Lawrence Bishnoi gang was involved, given Siddique's close ties to actor Salman Khan, who has been a target of the gang.
