Maharashtra rains: CM Uddhav Thackeray takes stock of situation, asks concerned departments to remain vigilant

MUMBAI: Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Thursday took stock of the situation as heavy rains lashed several districts of the state.

For the last four days, Mumbai, neighbouring Thane, and Palghar, and other districts in the Konkan region have been witnessing incessant downpours and it has also led to flood-like situations at several places.

The Chief Minister's Office (CMO) informed that Thackeray took stock of the flood situation in Ratnagiri and

Raigad

districts due to heavy rains in the last 24 hours and made suggestions to the authorities.

The Chief Minister has directed the Disaster Management Agency (DMA) as well as other concerned departments to remain vigilant and carry out rescue operations.

Stating that the water levels in the rivers are constantly rising, he said that the citizens living in those areas should be careful and cooperate with the administration.

"All machinery should work carefully and cautiously," he added.

He also directed the authorities to make alternative arrangements for Covid-19 patients.
