Man stuck after being hit by train in Mumbai, dies

Mumbai: An unidentified man got stuck between the train and the platform after being hit by the train and subsequently died. The incident occurred at Andheri railway station earlier this month but a video clip went viral on Tuesday.

Police said the man had ventured on to the tracks on platform no. 1 to attend nature’s call. While he was trying to return to the platform, he was hit by a train. He then got stuck between the train and platform waist downwards and suffered severe injuries. As he was in severe pain, co-passengers and police tried to extricate him. He subsequently died of the injuries.

Andheri Govt Railway Police (GRP) registered an accidental death and are trying to establish his identity.
