Missing man from Maharashtra feared to have drowned in creek
Thane: A 52-year-old man is feared to have drowned in the Mithbunder creek, two days after he went missing after leaving his footwear on the banks, officials informed.
According to Yasin Tadvi, in-charge at the Regional Disaster Management Cell, Kopri resident Datta Shinalkar left home Wednesday morning, but as he remained unreachable till the next day, his family alerted the authorities. CCTV footage showed him heading towards the creek Wednesday noon, where they spotted his footwear along the banks.
A search operation was launched Thursday and suspended Friday late night, along with local fishermen who failed to trace him, leaving authorities to suspect him to have drowned.
