Mumbai: Film producer held, charged with bid to murder wife

MUMBAI: While arresting film producer Kamal Kishore K Mishra on Friday in connection with running his car over his wife's legs, Amboli police have added charges of 'attempt to commit murder' against him. Mishra was produced before a magistrate court on Friday and remanded in police custody till October 30.

Mishra is producer of Hindi film 'Dehati Disco'.

The incident had occurred on October 19 in the parking lot of their housing society in Andheri (west). According to the complaint filed by Mishra's wife, she came looking for him and found him in a Mercedes with another woman. She went up to the car to confront him for cheating on her. Mishra allegedly tried to drive away and in the process hit his wife with the vehicle. CCTV footage of the incident shows Mishra's wife trying to speak to him but his car runs over her legs. According to the FIR, she suffered injuries to both legs, an arm and the back of her head. She is now in a stable condition.
