Unique art

To celebrate Shiv Jayanti, a 30x40 feet mosaic portrait of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was made at Thane's Shivaji maidan using earthen lamps (diyas) by mosaic artist Chetan Raut along with his 10 associates. Flamingos in Nerul

Violators spotted

Several people were spotted in Chembur violating COVID-19 rules and not using masks even after repeated warnings of lockdown by the state government as well as Mumbai's civic body. With the spike in Covid-19 cases in the M-West ward -- which covers Chembur and Tilak Nagar -- the BMC, in the last five days, has pasted notices outside 550 housing societies threatening to seal them in case of high prevalence of positive cases among residents. A 12-year-old daughter of a Naval sailor Madan Rai created history by swimming from Bandra-Worli Sea Link to Gateway of India, a distance of 36 kilometres, in eight hours and 40 minutes. The young girl, Jiya Rai, a known case of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), dedicated the swimming feat, completed on Wednesday, to raise awareness about Autism, a statement released by the Ministry of Defence said.
