Several trains cancelled due to heavy rain in Gujarat and MP
WR spokesperson said, “The water was flowing above the danger mark on bridge number 502 because of which train services were affected. Services resumed gradually around 11.30am on Monday after water started to subside.”
This led to cancellation of many trains, including Vande Bharat Express, Tejas Express and August Kranti Rajdhani Express. There was also disruption on account of heavy rain in Ratlam-Godhra section. Track settlement incident was reported at KM No. 597 due to which trains operated only via the down line. As a result, several trains, including Avantika Express and Jaipur-Mumbai Central Superfast Express, were cancelled.
Authorities first announced Suryanagari Express would terminate at Vadodara due to which many passengers got off at Ahmedabad. Later, it was later extended till Bandra Terminus. tnn
Several express trains cancelled, six diverted
Several express and special trains on the Visakhapatnam-Vijayawada section have been cancelled due to safety works in the Vijayawada Division of the South-Central Railway. Around 10 trains were cancelled and 6 others were diverted. The cancellations include Rajahmundry-Visakhapatnam Passenger Special, Guntur-Visakhapatnam Simhadri Express, and Visakhapatnam-Guntur Simhadri Express. The Uday Express, Guntur-Rayagada-Guntur Express, and Machilipatnam-Visakhapatnam-Machilipatnam Express were also cancelled. Several trains will be diverted via a different route during this period.
Heavy rains hit train movement on Ratlam-Godhra section
Due to heavy rain and track settlement incident on the Ratlam-Godhra section, several trains have been affected. Trains have been cancelled, diverted, and some have been short terminated or originated. Restoration work is underway with over 500 staff members deployed at the site. Track machines and other equipment have been installed for the restoration work. The railway is working on a war footing to minimize inconvenience to passengers.
Cancellation of several train services due to maintenance
Several train services in Hubballi and on the Visakhapatnam-Vijayawada section have been cancelled or partially cancelled due to safety-related maintenance work. This includes the cancellation of daily express trains and passenger specials. Additionally, some trains will be diverted to a different route. The cancellations and diversions are a result of ongoing engineering work and maintenance in the respective railway divisions.
