ULHASNAGAR: After rumours for almost six month, the alliance between
Team Omie Kalani
and
BJP and
RPI
was announced at a rally organised at Gol maidan area in Ulhasnagar.
The parties have given their alliance name as UDA (
Ulhasnagar Development Alliance
) to contest poll together for upcoming UMC (Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation) election.
The announcement was made on Saturday in presence of state BJP leader Ravindra Chavan and BJP Member of Parliament and Thane district president Kapil Patil.
Team Omie Kalani has support of 21 corporators while BJP has 12 corporators and RPI 4 corporators. The alliance may now put Shiv Sena into trouble in UMC election as Ulhasnagar is a Sindhi majority city and Shiv Sena doesn't have strong presence in Sindhi belt.
The alliance news surprised many as earlier there was news that Team Omie Kalani might join BJP.
