MUMBAI: A 26-year-old woman who had checked into a hotel in

on Sunday with her boyfriend was found strangled to death on Monday morning. The boyfriend is absconding.

Sagar Naik (29), both residents of Vasai, had checked into a hotel in
Papdi
Vasai (West) on Sunday. On Monday, when the couple did not answer the door bell, the staffers got suspicious. They opened the door using the master key and found Sasane lying dead on the bed. Naik, a mechanical engineer, was missing.
According to family members, the couple were to get married soon. They both were employed in private companies in Mumbai. Hotel management told the police that the couple frequently visited their hotel. On Sunday, the couple ordered lunch but did not step out of their room. In the evening, a few staffers saw Naik step out. They did not suspect any foul play.
Police said strangulation marks were found on the victim’s neck.
A case of murder has been registered against Naik. tnn
