Mysuru: An autodriver who had gone missing after diving into River Kapila has been found dead on Friday, two days after he went missing.
Abdul Rahim, 23, had gone to River Kapila with two of his friends — Sunil and Shivu, also autodrivers — on Wednesday. In the afternoon on Friday, Abdul Rahim’s body was fished out of the River Kapila, with the help of fire and emergency services personnel.
Abdul’s father Munnawar has complained to Nanjangud rural police, wherein he has accused his son’s friends for his death. Munnawar has demanded an inquiry into the incident, suspecting foul play. In his complaint, Munnawar claimed that Abdul had been involved in an altercation with his friends in 2019, which was why he suspected his son’s death by murder.
Nanjangud police have decided to launch a probe acting on Munnawar’s complaint. Abdul’s body was found one kilometre from Hejjige Bridge, which is where the three of them dove into the river, which was in spate.
